For fry & chicken counters

Hot, crisp and still in one piece at the door.

Fries and fried chicken are the hardest food to carry: hot, oily and full of steam. We make kraft boxes and bags for them with a grease barrier on the food side, sized to your portions and printed with your name.

  • Grease barrier, no PE film
  • Ships flat
  • Sized to your portion
  • Min. 2,000 per size

French fries in an open brown paper bag, seen from above

Sized to the scoop.

A small, a regular and a sharing size, each drawn to the portion you serve, so the box looks full when it leaves the fryer.

The trouble with the box you have now

What goes wrong between the fryer and the customer.

Most of it comes down to grease, steam and a box that was not made for either.

01

Grease through the box

Hot oil soaks into thin board and finds the weakest spot. That is where a box gives way first.

What we doOur boxes are E-flute kraft, and the food side carries a water-based grease barrier.

02

Soft fries by the time they land

Steam has nowhere to go in a closed container, so the crust softens on the ride.

What we doWe size the box to the portion instead of one big box for everything, and you try it with your own food on the sample before you order.

03

Boxes that spill in the bag

A tall, narrow container tips over when the bag is set down.

What we doA square base that sits flat, and bags with a square bottom that stand up while they are packed.

04

Too many sizes on the shelf

Every portion in a different container fills the back room and slows down the line.

What we doOne board and one look across sizes. Everything arrives flat and takes little room.

05

A plain box says nothing

Fries in an unmarked box could be from anywhere.

What we doYour logo printed in 1 to 4 colours on the kraft face, on every size.

06

Rules on foam and plastic

More towns and states limit foam and some plastics, and the rules differ from place to place.

What we doKraft board and paper, with a water-based barrier. No foam, no PE film on the boxes.

A service day

A shift at the fryer, with the right box.

Where the packaging shows up in your day.

  1. Delivery

Cartons of flat boxes and bags go on one shelf.

  2. Set up

A stack of boxes is folded before the doors open. About four seconds a box, by hand.

  3. Rush

Scoop, close, bag. The box closes with one thumb and sits flat in the bag.

  4. Delivery orders

Orders go out in bags with a square bottom that stays upright on the passenger seat.

  5. Close

Count what is left and reorder from your account. The next run ships flat.

Your name on it

Your name on every portion.

The artwork is printed on the flat sheet before it is cut, so it sits in the same place on every box, whatever the size.

  • Flexo print in 1 to 4 colours on the kraft face, or plain boxes you stamp yourself.
  • One artwork file, set on each size, so a small and a large look like a set.
  • You approve a proof before anything is cut.
  • Colour on unbleached kraft varies a little from run to run. That is the material, and it is normal.
What it replaces

What our boxes take the place of.

Most counters come to us from one of these.

Instead ofA foam clamshell

Foam is limited in a growing number of places, and it cannot carry your logo. Kraft board can.

Instead ofA thin paper tray

Thin board goes soft under hot oil. Our boxes are E-flute kraft with a water-based grease barrier on the food side.

Instead ofA plain paper bag for the fries

A bag crushes and tips. A box stands on the counter and in the delivery bag.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Something not covered here? Ask in the form below and we answer within one working day.

Will grease come through?

The food side of our boxes is virgin kraft with a water-based grease barrier. Bags for hot food have a grease-resistant liner.

If your food is very oily, say so and we sample the box with your food before you order.

Can you size a box to my scoop?

Yes. Send the portion you serve, or the box you use now, and we draw a die-line to it. Every size except our standard burger box is drawn to order.

Can we print our logo?

Yes. Flexo print in 1 to 4 colours on the kraft face, or plain.

What is the minimum order?

2,000 per size.

How long does it take?

About one working day for a quote and die-line, five working days for a sample, then 12 to 15 working days of production after you approve the proof. Transit is 1 to 5 business days.

Do the boxes come folded?

No, flat. Our boxes set up by hand in about four seconds. The standard box is 7.1 × 7.1 × 2.8 in (180 × 180 × 70 mm); fry and chicken boxes are drawn to your portion.

How does payment work for a new account?

A new account starts with a 30% deposit on the agreed order and a supply agreement. We then hold your products in our warehouse, and each month you pay only for what you used.
